Hey my “Look for the good . . . ” family and friends,
Just wanted to send out a quick message . . . So many people out there are going through so many terrible things. You may be one of them. Our hearts and minds can seem broken at times and all we need is a little sweetness. So, for today here is the good . . . SMILE! At least try and smile at someone – anyone – today. Just once if that’s all you can do. It will make your lips feel better and your face seem brighter. Maybe even your heart a bit lighter. If you can’t then accept a smile or wave or a simple good gesture from someone else. We all need each other. Much Peace and Love Y’all!
“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak. Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” Sir Winston Churchill
If you have read my blog for any amount of time you will know I have no problem standing up and speaking – when appropriate (most of the time). However, when I pulled this quote from my personal LFTG jar today and read the second sentence, I said out loud and yes, to myself “Uh, oh!” I can sit down and listen but it doesn’t come as easy as the first part especially if I think I have been wronged or am hurt by something. Speaking of being hurt – I have been deeply disturbed by an occurrence that took place several months ago. And just in the past week I had the privilege of sitting down with someone who, not only sat and listened to me, but who showed me how to sit and listen. I needed that reminder. It was easy for me to hear and listen to this person because I felt it came from a place of love. I was also validated in my feelings of what happened. So, for today here is the good . . . a fear of mine was erased by the affirmation of who I am today and not the decisions I made long ago in my past. It is good to have courage. I hope you have the courage to stand up and speak but also the courage to sit down and listen. May your hearts and minds be open. Peace and Love Y’all! Have a fabulous weekend!
